The King of the Blues brings together five powerhouse musicians whose lives and legacies are woven into the very fabric of blues history. This all-star ensemble the electrifying Vasti Jackson on guitar and vocals, Russell Jackson on bass, the deep-grooving foundation behind B.B. King’s band; Tony Coleman on drums, the heartbeat of countless blues stages; Sir Waldo Weathers on saxophone, whose fiery horn once soared beside the Godfather of Soul; and Kenny "Blues Boss" Wayne on piano and vocals, channelling boogie-woogie brilliance with every note.
Bringing this dream lineup to European stages is Break Live Music (BLM), a leading Italian booking agency with over 13 years of experience. Known for working with blues and rock legends such as Johnny Winter, Otis Clay, and Robben Ford, with a deep passion for live music and cultural preservation, BLM continues its mission to connect generations and nations through the power of sound.
The title of the project pays homage to a royal lineage in blues—B.B. King, Albert King, Freddie King—whose music crowned generations and helped shape the sound of modern soul, funk, and rock. But this project is more than a tribute. It’s a gathering of kindred spirits—musicians who share decades of touring, jamming, and growing together, both on stage and off. It’s built on friendship, mutual respect, and a deep, lived-in love for the music.
