Ife’s Blues Routine with Edmilson This is one of the choreographic works I most enjoyed developing, especially because of the intimate atmosphere in which it was created. The chosen song, “Ife’s Blues” by Brother Yusef, carries a moderate yet deeply expressive energy, allowing the exploration of different rhythmic and emotional textures: from light and playful moments to more grounded and introspective expression. The choreography is built around five simple sequences, strongly rooted in rhythm, performance quality, and individual expressiveness. Its structure follows a relational progression: the dance begins in a more reserved and cautious space, like a first encounter, gradually evolving into greater confidence, openness, and emotional presence throughout the performance.
